Project Overview
The client wanted to start a small business venture in the education industry and wanted branding. The name of the company would have been Ankuram. Their vision was to make children learn mathematics with a basic fundamental foundation and concept clarity so that a child never has to struggle and fear maths ever again.
Ankuram required a dynamic logo with variations that could be used everywhere, from books to clothes to letterheads and online on social media.
Unfortunately, the idea for this venture never saw the day of light.
The objectives were to:
- Create a logo that aligns with the company’s core vision
- Have at least two variations: icon logo and full-lockup logo
- Create a modern and fun-feeling design.
My Approach
Concept:
I focused on integrating elements that symbolize learning and growth. The use of botanical-inspired details in both logo variations represented the idea of nurturing a strong mathematical foundation, much like how plants grow from solid roots or a firm foundation.
Design Execution:
- Iconic Logo: A bold, stylized letter “A” in vibrant green, encircled by a dark navy border. The letter features subtle botanical details, reinforcing the theme of growth while maintaining a professional and modern look.
- Full-Lockup: A more intricate design, incorporating floral and leaf elements into the letter “A,” with “nkuram” written below. A stylized ruler was added, reinforcing the mathematical aspect of the brand while blending seamlessly with the organic theme.
Color Psychology:
The color palette – green, teal, and navy was chosen to evoke a sense of trust, stability, and energy. The combination of bold and decorative elements, which symbolised numbers and mathematical tools like a ruler, ensured the logos remained both engaging and credible.
Though the Ankuram venture never launched, this project was an exploration of how design can visually communicate educational values while maintaining adaptability and a strong brand presence.
